JR Smith has no plans to apologize to Jae Crowder

The last time we saw JR Smith he clobbered Jae Crowder with a vicious cheapshot during the playoffs. Crowder spoke today about Smith and the incident:

“I hope he apologizes [Tuesday], to be honest with you,” said Crowder, who avoided surgery but spent the early part of his offseason rehabbing the injury that occurred as he fell to the court. Smith was ejected and suspended for two games for the incident, but has apparently not apologized to Crowder.

Added Crowder: “I hope it wasn’t intentional. But if he doesn’t [apologize], then we’ll play ball.”

When asked if Smith delivered a cheap shot, Crowder repeated himself.

“I hope he apologizes tomorrow,” Crowder said. “But if he doesn’t, we’ll play ball.”

The fact that Smith has yet to apologize is not surprising at all. In fact, Smith told the Cleveland media that he has no plans to address his cowardice with Crowder:

“I mean, we’ll just play ball,” Smith told cleveland.com after practice on Monday.

Obviously irritated with the topic, Smith refused to exert much energy into the incident that cost him the first two games in the next round with Chicago. He didn’t have much to say.

“Honestly man, I’m done with that whole situation,” he said. “I’m not even going to feed into it.”
