Report: The Bear will dance in China this season

guerschon-yabusele

Guerschon Yabusele went from “who” to “whoa” in Summer League, displaying they type of footwork that belied his size. When he was drafted, “The Dancing Bear” was considered to be a draft-and-stash kind of guy… but then his play in Utah and Las Vegas had us questioning whether that would actually be the case.

Well, there are no longer questions.

Celtics forward Guerschon Yabusele, the 16th overall pick of last month’s NBA Draft, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to a league source.

With bonuses, Yabusele could make up to $1.5 million next season, the source said. The Celtics will still hold Yabusele’s NBA rights.

The move clears a roster spot as the Celtics continue to maneuver for potential trade and remaining free agents. We’ll probably see Yabu next summer… in the meantime we’ll have to settle for finding online streams of him dancing through Chinese competition (I was so close in our superlatives podcast)

I sometimes don’t understand why we draft these players who we either know won’t be playing for us or will go overseas. Why didn’t we go for an Ellenson to help our rebounding or some shooter/scorer like Malik Beasley/LeVert/Korkmaz to fill that need? Then we give away Davis who I think is better than Yabu!

We should have packed the 16th and 23rd and either move up where we could have gotten Valentine or give those picks away and for another 1st rounder next year.

wouldnt happen, next years draft is a maybe next generation draft. this one was clearly a for sure two player draft. of course there will be a few good ones out of it but the only super stars that will come outa this draft is ingram and simmons. the might not even be superstars but all stars none the less

What’s your thoughts on who we should have drafted this year?

i really think we should have taken a chance on buddy heild even tho we are guard heavy, i do really like jaylen brown. brown i can see really coming into his own and 3-5 years and being a paul george type of guy. not saying he will be as good as paul george tho. at the time of the draft i thought we should’ve taken kriss dunn tho.
