Cavs management forced to address LeBron’s behavior

LeBron

Via Cleveland.com:

The Cavaliers have noticed LeBron James’ occasionally peculiar behavior of late and have addressed it with their star.

Two members of the team’s top brass – coach Tyronn Lue and general manager David Griffin – have had conversations with James over the past few days regarding separate items.

Lue spoke with James after Saturday’s 122-101 loss in Miami, during which at halftime James was noticeably chatting it up with his friend, Heat star Dwyane Wade, instead of warming up with the Cavs trailing by 21.

Griffin replaced former coach David Blatt with Lue in part to demand more accountability from James — which the player covets — and their chat was an example.

Griffin’s talk with James on Wednesday afternoon was a little more general, but was sparked by James’ comments to The Bleacher Report that he wanted to play with Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Paul on the same team for a “year or two.”

Lue said James apologized to him for his behavior at halftime Saturday night, and Griffin’s discussion with James was positive and productive, with James echoing recent public statements about an upward trend for the Cavs heading into the playoffs.

LeBron James is 31 years old and in the midst of his 13th NBA season, yet Cavs management had to talk to him like a 19 year old rookie.

The off-season is going to be very interesting.

So LeBron wants to play on a team of 30-year old vets who are overpaid and exiting their prime?

also they don’t need bench =)

    • Jason Benn

Give the man what he wants

      • Curt Hays

Maybe they should just all play in the Olympics this time

Deadline “rumors” were: Melo to Cavs (Love to Boston), Kyrie for CP3…plus Wade is on a 1 year deal…I don’t think anything Lebron says is “accidental”

The scary thing (for Cleveland) is that all of that might actually happen. They’d need to name that team the Cleveland Zombies. It’d easily be the most-hated team in NBA history, maybe even more than Isiah’s Pistons.

    I can see it now.

Cleveland FO: “Lebron, listen we would like to talk to you about the past couple of days with this whole twitter frenzy and that statement you made about you playing with your friends sometime in your career.”
    Lebron: (Responds disinterestedly) “Yeah?”
Cleveland FO: “Well, see, we were hoping that maybe you could show us just a tad more respect as a franchise. You see, we worship you like a king here but we really wish you could maybe just-”
Lebron: “You say one more word and I’m bolting for LA this summer.”
Cleveland FO: *Smiles* “Great talk Lebron! You’re the King!”
Lebron: “Ugh, shut up and polish your statue of me.”
Cleveland FO: “…We don’t have a statue of you.”
    Lebron: *Glares*
Cleveland FO: (Nervously) “But we’ll get on that right away! Dan! We need to build a statue of Lebron! Pronto!
Dan Gilbert: “But, we’re in the middle of building our shrine to Lebron. We just started yesterday.”
Cleveland FO: “I don’t care! PRONTO!”

Carmelo was right. Cleveland’s situation is very comical right now. Having one man hold your entire city hostage. I’m so glad I was never raised in Cleveland.
