Kidding aside, these aren’t bad at all. I’m a fan of simple uniforms, and these do little to mess with the traditional Celtics gear. As they noted on Uni-watch:
The script chest insignia are meant to evoke the feel of the fancy script on a Christmas card. I think most of them are pretty nice on their own, although the repeated template waters down the visual effect a bit. I’m not sure why they chose to have the scripts running uphill with the uni numbers offset to one side, but I like it
Go check out all the mock-ups. There are some other little nuances in the uniform that all tie into the Christmas card theme.
We don’t even know yet IF the Celtics are playing on Christmas (we won’t find out for a few months, but if the Celtics make any kind of splash this summer, that, their market size, and their big playoff run this past season could get them at least ONE of the marquee games) but chances are they’ll wear this at some point in December.
