Sources tell the Globe that Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo suffered a broken hand and had surgery today. Return timetable is unclear.

Celtics say Rajon Rondo slipped at his home last night. Surgery was to repair a left metacarpal fracture. Official timetable 6-8 weeks.

I saw someone saying a metacarpal is very hard to break and usually is what people break when they punch a wall. Trying to insinuate Rondo was a hothead I guess. I think thats BS, they said he slipped and fell in his shower. Everything in the shower is hard so I could easily see him accidentally punching something in the shower when falling.

I don’t understand how professional athletes can hurt themselves off the court. It feels irresponsible. Unless he killed himself in the weight room and his legs were jacked up, there’s no excuse…

The good news is that we’ll get to see smart getting quality minutes and the injury is on rondo’s left hand which shouldn’t be that difficult to recover from. There could be some drama when he does come back tho…

I’ve come to the conclusion that old people hate rondo. Tons of rondo bashing today on Facebook and every profile pic was somebody over 35. “Trade rondo” they say… Yes, let’s trade him coming off and acl tear and now a broken hand while his value is not nearly as high as it could be! Brilliant! Smh
