Danny and Big Baby Davis Make It Official

The Celtics officially announced the signings of Glen Davis and Shelden Williams. Here are some quotes via Dan Duggan of the Boston Herald:

“It’s been tough,” Davis said of the uncertainty of the offseason. “I think the most important thing that I got out of it is that it’s about becoming the best player you can be. That’s basically what I’ve gotten out of it and making sure that I develop myself into the player the Celtics want me to be. I feel like I’ve grown up so much this whole summer – just being a professional and just being an adult.”

“There was a point in time that I thought I wasn’t going to come back,” Davis said. “I was telling my girlfriend, ‘Hey, we gotta pack. It’s time to go.’ There was a point in time then, but it’s so funny how things change so quickly. I’m happy to be back here.”

Celtics executive director of basketball operations Danny Ainge was confident that Davis would return.

“I tried to talk with Glen and tried to explain to him a bigger picture, but it’s tough,” Ainge said. “He’s living in the moment and from one day to the next it can be a roller coaster. ...We like Glen more than anybody else likes Glen out there, and that’s ultimately what it boils down to.”

The Globe's Frank Dell'Apa has a similar story on the signings but one bit of information caught our eye:

Davis, 23, signed a two-year deal worth $6.3 million. Williams, 25, a one-year bi-annual exception contract worth $1.9 million.

We're under the impression Williams signed for the veteran's minimum - $1.3 million. If this is not a mistake, then what money is left for Marquis Daniels? Or does this mean a sign-and-trade has been worked out?
