Sneaker Madness: Final Four finalist #1

Ok folks-we have our first finalist for the Sneaker Madness championship. It is Ray Allen's AJ XIII. They knocked out Rondo's Nike Air Max 360 BB by getting 55% of your votes. Now it's time to see what pair of CeltKicks will be facing Ray's XIII's in the championship:

These first surfaced the night Ray received his championship ring. Since then, he's rocked them a handful of times. They feature shimmering gold patent leather and an icy green sole.

Celtics Sneaker Madness: The Final Four

We have our last pair of Celtics kicks to make it into the Final Four. They are Ray Allen's Phase 23 away p.e. This was a tight poll, and Ray's kicks beat Paul's Air Legacy II suede/nubuck by 1 vote!! So now it's time for the Final Four. Here are the 1st two pairs of kicks:

Only the 2nd pair of Ray's true player editions to be released to the public, (the other his AJ VIII) this one was very limited. Resellers have charged as much as $1,000 for a pair.

Rondo's Air Max 360 BB, a popular shoe amongst CelticSneakerHeads, (did I just create a new word?) has defeated his Hyperfuse green high by 8 votes. Let's see who's next to make the Final Four:

#17 Paul Pierce Air Legacy 2 green nubuck/patent  

This classic version of Paul's Nike Air Legacy 2 features a shiny, patent leather upper and smooth nubuck on the toe. This pair was first seen during Boston's playoff series w/Miami last season. A beautiful shoe.

Celtics Sneaker Madness: Round 2 cont'd

Ok folks-sorry for the delay, but I'm back with more Celtics Sneaker Madness. Our last matchup was won by Paul Pierce's Air Legcacy II patent/nubuck. This beautiful shoe beat Nate's Air Jordan VI Oreo 47 votes to 30.

#7 Rajon Rondo Hyperfuse 2010 High green

One of Rondo's best from 2010. Celtic green with his number "9" in white. These were released at House of Hoops stores and RMK store still has a few left for sale.

Celtics Sneaker Madness: big upset!

In easily the biggest upset of the tourney, Ray Allen's Phase 23 away p.e. has defeated possibly the most iconic sneaker ever-the Air Jordan XI Space Jam. Ray's Jordan Phase 23 won with 66% of the votes. Now granted-I know that with summer here and more importantly the lockout in effect that our readership is down, but that is still a significant upset. Alot of sneaker "purists" may cry foul, but the readers have spoken! Now let's see if the home version gets as much love

#4 Rajon Rondo Hyperfuse high 2010 white 

It was hard to find pics of these player edition Hyperfuse high. They were not released to the public and were an instant hit amongst C's fans/sneakerheads. They first appeared in the 2010 playoffs.

Celtics Sneaker Madness: Round 2 continued

In the closest match-up of the tournament thus far, the readers have selected Ray's Air Jordan XI as the next to move-on to Round 3. The green & gold XI's won by a mere 3 votes over Rondo's Hyperfuse 2010 high.  I for one am very surprised at this outcome. The Air Jordan XI are the most popular Jordan ever, but perhaps folks didn't like the colorway....?? Anyhow-let's get into the next match-up:

#3 Nate Robinson AJ XI Space Jam

Nate wore alot of heat while in Boston, and this classic Air Jordan XI was one he rocked quite a bit. When this shoe was re-retroed in 2009, it caused quite a bit of drama.

Celtics Sneaker Madness: Round 2

The hottest release of 2011 thus far, Ray Allen's AJ XIII, are the first pair to move on to Round 3. They were victorius over his Evolution 85 home version, earning 60% of your votes. Now on to the next match-up: 

#2 Ray Allen Air Jordan XI white/green/gold

I would be scared of what would happen if these kicks were ever released. Ray first wore these on Opening Night 2009 while getting his championship ring and has rocked them a couple of times since. Pure heat.

Round 2: Celtics Sneaker Madness

Well, we finally made it to round 2. The final pair of kicks to make it here were KG's Anta "Beat LA". They won in a close vote getting 54% and beating Paul's Air Legacy 2 BHM.  Now let's dive-in to the first match-up of round 2!

#1 Ray Allen Air Jordan XIII

I don't have to explain why this shoe is the 1 seed. Last month, the limited release of this sneaker caused hype, frustration and mayhem like I've never seen. If you weren't lucky (very lucky) enough to cop a pair, there have been unconfirmed reports of a "2nd release".

Match-up 16 "Celtics Sneaker Madness"

The Truth's Air Legacy II Black History Month beat-out J.O.'s Air Max closer to take match-up 15. You folks sent Truth's kicks to the next round with 64% of the vote. Now on to the final match-up of round one! It features another version of PP's shoe and a controversial KG shoe:

#16 Paul Pierce Air Legacy II St.Paddy's

Paul broke these out for the week of St. Patrick's Day last season. This beautiful shoe features a suede-upper and Paul's trademark "Truth" emblazoned on the strap.
